Ethanol is the alcohol that is used for perfumery. There is such a thing as perfumer's alcohol, which is a blend of Ethanol, Isopropyl myristate andMonopropylene glycol. I haven't used this blend. These can all be bought easily enough, however for homemade perfumery it is common to use vodka.
